The New York Daily News is reporting the New York Giants have left LB Jessie Armstead and DE Kenny Holmes unprotected for the NFL expansion draft. An earlier report had DE Frank Ferrara and LB Clayton White as the last two names on the Giants list. The Giants were tight-lipped on the subject until they contacted all the players involved.

Tara Sullivan reports for the Bergen Record the New York Giants placed S Sam Garnes, LG Glenn Parker, CB Dave Thomas, DE Frank Ferrara, and LB Clayton White on their expansion list. Garnes fell victim to his 2002 base salary of $1.7 million (that counts nearly $3 million against the salary cap. The team is expected to re-sign free agent S Shaun Williams and perhaps move him from free safety to strong safety.
