San Francisco Giants RP Santiago Casilla secured the save Tuesday, April 17, against the Philadelphia Phillies, his first of the season. RP Clay Hensley came on and worked a perfect seventh inning, and RP Sergio Romo worked a perfect eighth frame to get it to Casilla, who allowed a hit in a scoreless ninth inning.

San Francisco Giants RP Sergio Romo (elbow) threw a side session Tuesday, March 20, and said his right elbow was improved. Romo is hopeful of throwing in a spring game soon. Romo is expected to be fine for the start of the regular season.

San Francisco Giants RP Santiago Casilla will remain the closer with RP Brian Wilson (elbow) on the disabled list and even after RP Sergio Romo (elbow) was activated from the DL Sunday, Aug. 28. "Sergio is right off the DL and we need to monitor his work load," manager Bruce Bochy stated. "We don't want to push him too hard, so we are going to keep him where he's been successful."
