The Colorado Rockies optioned SP Drew Pomeranz to the minors Friday, May 11, and activated P Josh Outman (oblique) from the disabled list in a corresponding move. The team wants Pomeranz to work on his mechanics down on the farm.

Updating a previous report, Colorado Rockies RP Josh Outman (oblique) reached 97 mph during a two-inning minor-league rehab outing Thursday, May 3, for Double-A Tulsa, according to manager Jim Tracy. "I understand he was electric in the first inning and started to get a little bit tired toward the end of the second inning," Tracy said. "The two hits were more of the seeing-eye variety."

Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa (elbow) will pitch in his first rehab game with Single-A Modesto Wednesday, May 2, and he'll have two outings each with Modesto, Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Colorado Springs. "I am excited about this," De La Rosa said. "My velocity has been OK. I am around 91 to 92 mph and have hit 93 mph. Everything is good." SP Jeremy Guthrie (shoulder) threw from 200 feet Tuesday, May 1, and still had some stiffness in his AC joint. He'll need to throw a side session before being cleared to start against the San Diego Padres Tuesday, May 8. P Josh Outman (oblique) will make back-to-back outings with Double-A Tulsa later this week, and then he's expected to pitch for Triple-A Colorado Springs before returning.

RP Josh Outman (oblique) will throw 25-30 pitches with Triple-A Colorado Springs Monday. SP Jorge De La Rosa (elbow) will make another rehab start with Single-A Modesto Wednesday, May 3, and will toss 90 pitches.
