Hamilton's lawyer, Steven A. Varano, said afterward, "This was not a case, in my opinion, of abuse or neglect."

Giants | Hamilton Mulling Retirement

Wed, 10 Dec 2003 06:18:13 -0800

The Associated Press reports New York Giants DT Keith Hamilton is considering retiring after this season. If head coach Jim Fassel is fired, Hamilton isn't sure he will fit into the new coach's plan. "I've always said I didn't want anybody running me out of town, talking about his skills are diminishing or he can't do what he used to do,'' Hamilton said. "That's not the way I want to go out. I wasn't foolish with my money. I saved my money for when that time came when I could not do some of the things I'm accustomed to being able to do, so I could say goodbye.'' Hamilton said he won't discuss his future until the last week of the season.
