San Diego Padres SP Clayton Richard had lost his previous five starts coming into play Wednesday, May 16, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He allowed just two earned runs, four hits and no walks over seven innings to pick up his first win since beating the Dodgers April 8. He is now 6-1 in 10 career starts against the Dodgers.

San Diego Padres SP Clayton Richard (shoulder) said he had a normal offseason following shoulder surgery, and he has the green light to throw in spring training. However, manager Bud Black said the team will keep a close eye on the southpaw this spring.
