The Minnesota Twins have placed RP Jose Mijares (elbow) on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left elbow, according to La Velle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Besides rehabbing the elbow, Mijares is also expected to work on his conditioning while he is sidelined, after he reported to spring training camp 10 pounds heavier than he weighed at the end of last season. The Twins have recalled P Alex Burnett from Triple-A Rochester, although he will not be available for the game Saturday, April 17, against the Kansas City Royals.
