Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon said Wednesday, May 16, that 2B Will Rhymes (arm) is "fine" after passing out due to adrenaline rush following a hit by pitch. Maddon said the team is still awaiting results from X-rays to see if the arm is bruised or broken.

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Will Rhymes (arm) was hit by a pitch on the right arm Wednesday, May 16, against the Boston Red Sox, but he initially was able to stay in and take his base. However, he fell down and appeared to pass out on the field. After a brief period, he was alert and taken off the field on a cart.

The Tampa Bay Rays placed 3B Evan Longoria (hamstring) on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, May 1. INF Will Rhymes was recalled from the minors and RP Kyle Farnsworth (elbow) was moved to the 60-day disabled list, meaning he can't return until June 5.
