P Luis Lebron and IF Pedro Florimon Jr. were optioned to Double-A Bowie. P Mitch Atkins, P Raul Rivero, OF Tyler Henson, C Adam Donachie and C Caleb Joseph were sent to minor league camp.

The Baltimore Orioles have unilaterally renewed the contracts of 22 players for the 2011 season, according to The Sports Network. SP Jake Arrieta and C Matt Wieters were renewed, along with IF's Robert Andino, Josh Bell, Pedro Florimon, Luis Lebron, Joe Mahoney and Brandon Snyder; OF's Matt Angle and Nolan Reimold; P's Brad Bergesen, Jason Berken, Zach Britton, Brandon Erbe, Troy Patton, Adrian Rosario, Alfredo Simon, Chorye Spoone, Chris Tillman, Rick VandenHurk and Pedro Viola; and C's Jake Fox and Craig Tatum.

Orioles | Brandon Erbe throwing

Baltimore Orioles SP Brandon Erbe (shoulder) did some light throwing in December and has progressed to being able to throw every other day in camp, according to MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli. Erbe is unlikely to pitch in any spring games but is optimistic he can work toward simulated games in extended spring training. "Hopefully I'll only miss a couple weeks of the actual season," Erbe said. "My goal for this year is to just get back to pitching and to be healthy, and to be able to get back to being able to get into a routine of throwing every five days - and doing all my stuff in between."
