The Cleveland Indians released OF Ben Francisco Monday, March 11. In corresponding moves, the team recalled RP Rich Hill from the minors and put RP Blake Wood (elbow) on the 60-day disabled list.

Boston Red Sox RP Scott Atchison (forearm) threw around 25 pitches in the bullpen Wednesday, July 25, and he'll pitch an inning for Triple-A Pawtucket in a rehab outing Friday, July 27. He's no longer experiencing soreness in his forearm, and he hopes to be activated Monday, July 30. RP Rich Hill (elbow) will throw off a mound Friday. SP Daisuke Matsuzaka (neck) also threw off a bullpen mound Wednesday, but it's unknown when he'll go on a rehab assignment.
