Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley and 1B Casey Kotchman each drove in three runs in a winning effort in Game 1 of a doubleheader Monday, May 7. DH Travis Hafner hit a homer and triple for the first time in almost five years. Hafner's homer was his fourth of the season and 192nd in his career, tying him for eighth place in team history on the all-time list. His triple was his first since May of 2007, a span of 1,711 at-bats. Brantley was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley is being asked to share leadoff duties with OF Johnny Damon, who got the nod Wednesday, May 2, in the top spot of the order for manager Manny Acta. Brantley isn't bitter, and he said Damon is a "class-act person," and that the veteran is "already taking young guys in and teaching them some things."

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley (wrist) missed the game Tuesday, April 24, against the Kansas City Royals due to soreness in his right wrist. It is the same wrist Brantley had surgery on to remove a hamate bone last season.

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley snapped an 0-for-15 slump in the early part of the season by going 2-for-5 with one run, one RBI and one strikeout. He is still hitting only .136 on the season.
