Twins | Minnesota releases Jordan Schafer

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 19:03:18 -0700

The Minnesota Twins released OF Jordan Schafer Thursday, June 18.

Fantasy Tip: Schafer was already on the disabled list, but his release should ensure that Byron Buxton ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) receives plenty of playing time the rest of the way.

Minnesota Twins OF Jordan Schafer (knee) is "not quite ready to go on a rehab," manager Paul Molitor said Monday, June 15.

Fantasy Tip: Schafer appears to be a while away from returning, so FantasyScore owners need not bother with him for at least a few weeks at this rate.

Twins | Jordan Schafer will not need surgery

Fri, 22 May 2015 23:59:45 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Jordan Schafer (knee) got a second opinion on his right knee from Dr. James Andrews, who confirmed Schafer will not need surgery.

Fantasy Tip: Schafer ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is on the disabled list until the end of May, and it could be a little longer even though the injury is a mild sprain of his medial collateral ligament. Keep an eye on his progress.

Twins | Jordan Schafer to the DL

Sat, 16 May 2015 18:03:11 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Jordan Schafer (knee) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right medial collateral ligament Saturday, May 16. The move was retroactive to May 11.

Fantasy Tip: Schafer ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has been struggling all year, and this isn't the first knee issue he has dealt with. Even when he returns, he doesn't figure to have much value at FantasyScore.

Twins | Jordan Schafer returns

Fri, 01 May 2015 14:16:29 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Jordan Schafer (knee) is back in the starting lineup Friday, May 1.

Fantasy Tip: Schafer ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) won't be a popular or smart play at FantasyScore tonight coming off a knee injury, and he's hitting only .188 (9-for-48) with two RBI on the season. He's also facing a lefty, and he hit just .143 (7-for-49) with no homers against southpaws in 2014. Avoid him everywhere.

Twins | Jordan Schafer out vs. White Sox

Thu, 30 Apr 2015 14:19:19 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Jordan Schafer (knee) is not in the starting lineup against the Chicago White Sox Thursday, April 30. Schafer left in the sixth innings with a mild sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee Wednesday, April 29. OF Shane Robinson is starting in center field and batting eighth Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid both Schafer ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) in all fantasy formats Thursday. With Chris Sale on the hill for the White Sox, there is no reason to roster Robinson. Additionally, both Schafer and Robinson are low-level AL-only players in seasonal leagues.

Twins | Jordan Schafer injures knee

Wed, 29 Apr 2015 16:32:30 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Jordan Schafer (knee) left in the sixth innings with a mild sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee Wednesday, April 29.

Fantasy Tip: Schafer ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is likely to miss at least a couple of days, if not longer, after injuring his knee. Shane Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) replaced Schafer in center in the game, and he could see a few starts in center field depending on how long Schafer sits out. Robinson doesn't tip the scales at all at FantasyScore.

Twins | Jordan Schafer sitting against lefty

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 15:35:57 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Jordan Schafer is not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals left-handed SP Jason Vargas Tuesday, April 21. OF Shane Robinson is starting in center field and hitting ninth in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has very little FantasyScore appeal with his weak stick, especially at the bottom of a poor Twins lineup. Avoid him in your daily lineups against the Royals.

Twins | Jordan Schafer out vs. lefty

Thu, 16 Apr 2015 09:15:22 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Jordan Schafer is not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals left-handed SP Jason Vargas Thursday, April 16. OF Shane Robinson is starting in center field and hitting ninth in the batting order in his place.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) isn't an offensive threat at all, really, so he should be ignored in all daily games. Hitting at the bottom of the Minnesota order shouldn't endear him at all to fantasy gamers.

Twins | Jordan Schafer sitting Monday

Mon, 13 Apr 2015 10:29:23 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Jordan Schafer is not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy Monday, April 13. OF Shane Robinson is starting in center field in his place and batting ninth in the order.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has very limited power and hasn't hit better than .253 in any of his major league seasons. Ignore him at FantasyScore.
