The Oakland Athletics do not appear likely to trade for Tampa Bay Rays SS Yunel Escobar, because SS Jed Lowrie (finger) is making progress in his recovery from a fractured finger, according to sources. The Athletics claimed Escobar off revocable waivers and have until Tuesday, Aug. 26, to make a trade.
