Astros | Colby Rasmus out vs. lefty

Fri, 29 May 2015 14:10:53 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is not in the starting lineup Friday, May 29. OF Preston Tucker is starting in left field and hitting third in the batting order against Chicago White Sox SP Carlos Rodon.

Fantasy Tip: Tucker ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has some intriguing power from the lest side, especially hitting near the heart of Houston's dangerous lineup. In a small sample size, Tucker has a .429 average (6-for-14) against lefties, but Rodon is on the more nasty young southpaws in the game, making it hard to justify using Tucker on FantasyScore this evening.

Astros | Colby Rasmus ends slide

Wed, 27 May 2015 18:19:39 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus entered the game Wednesday, May 27, against the Baltimore Orioles on an 0-for-11 skid at the plate, but he picked up three hits off SP Ubaldo Jimenez.

Fantasy Tip: Rasmus ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is a GPP-only option on FantasyScore. Rasmus has plenty of power in his bat, but his poor average can lead to plenty of nights with zero fantasy points.

Astros | Colby Rasmus likes facing Jimenez

Wed, 27 May 2015 09:58:27 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is 10-for-27 with seven extra-base hits in his career against Baltimore Orioles SP Ubaldo Jimenez, and the two face each other Wednesday, May 27. However, Rasmus is also hitless in his last 11 at-bats, with nine strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: Rasmus ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) embodies the risk/reward tag today at FantasyScore against Jimenez in Baltimore.

Astros | Jake Marisnick out Tuesday

Tue, 26 May 2015 13:21:28 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 26. OF Colby Rasmus is shifting over to center field and is hitting fifth in the batting order against Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman.

Fantasy Tip: Left-handed hitters have a slash line of .312/.391/.416 off of Tillman this year, and he enters with a 6.10 ERA in eight starts. Rasmus ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is typically a dice roll at FantasyScore, but he does have some upside tonight as a value pick against a struggling pitcher at a hitter-friendly venue.

Astros | Colby Rasmus sitting out

Mon, 25 May 2015 07:47:10 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is not in the starting lineup Monday, May 25. OF Preston Tucker will be the starting left fielder for the Astros.

Fantasy Tip: Rasmus ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) likely is sitting out because the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. Tucker ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has played well since being recalled by the team and could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore to consider.

Astros | Jake Marisnick sitting out Tuesday

Tue, 19 May 2015 16:21:35 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 19. OF Preston Tucker is starting in left field and hitting fifth in the batting order against Oakland Athletics SP Sonny Gray, while OF Colby Rasmus shifts to center field.

Fantasy Tip: Tucker ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has done well in limited time for the Astros this year, but he should be considered a weak play at FantasyScore this evening against Gray, who leads the American League in ERA (1.61) entering the game.

Astros | Colby Rasmus out against southpaw

Mon, 18 May 2015 13:47:08 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is not in the starting lineup against a left-handed pitcher Monday, May 18. OF Preston Tucker is starting in left field and hitting fifth in the batting order against Oakland Athletics SP Drew Pomeranz.

Fantasy Tip: Tucker ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) also swings from the left side, and Pomeranz is allowing lefties to hit for a slash line of only .152/.171/.152 in 2015. That would make Tucker a weak option at FantasyScore Monday night. Look elsewhere.

Astros | Colby Rasmus hitting cleanup

Thu, 07 May 2015 15:48:06 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is hitting cleanup against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Hector Santiago Thursday, May 7.

Fantasy Tip: Rasmus ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is likely to play every day now with George Springer (concussion) on the 7-day disabled list. Against a lefty tonight, Rasmus profiles as a weak play at FantasyScore; he's hitting just .211 (4-for-19) with a .664 OPS against southpaws this year.

Astros | Colby Rasmus out against lefty again

Tue, 05 May 2015 16:49:14 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is out for the second straight day against a left-handed starter Tuesday, May 5. OF Robbie Grossman is starting in left field and hitting ninth in the batting order against Texas Rangers SP Wandy Rodriguez.

Fantasy Tip: Grossman ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting only .154 (6-for-39) with a home run and five RBI in limited duty for the Astros this year. Despite a decent matchup against Rodriguez, it's hard to endorse Grossman to FantasyScore users at the bottom of the lineup.

Mon, 04 May 2015 14:18:36 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is not in the starting lineup versus a left-handed pitcher Monday, May 4. OF Robbie Grossman is starting in left field and hitting ninth in the batting order against Texas Rangers SP Ross Detwiler.

Fantasy Tip: Grossman ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is a weak, low-end FantasyScore outfield play tonight.
