One of the top priorities for the New York Yankees this offseason will be to secure the rights to Japanese SP Masahiro Tanaka. The Yanks are "going to be bold" in their pursuit of Tanaka, according to sources with knowledge of the team's plans. Executives think the team with the winning bid will have to top $75 million for Tanaka. Tanaka was 24-0 with a 1.27 ERA this year in Japan. The Yankees' posting fee will not count against their luxury-tax figures, making him even more attractive. New York is also considering signing free-agent SPs Ubaldo Jimenez (Indians), Matt Garza (Rangers) and Dan Haren (Nationals).
