Texas Rangers skipper Ron Washington said INF Brandon Snyder will mostly play at first base. Snyder is working with outfield coach Gary Pettis, and he should be able to play left field soon, but he'll most likely stick at first.

Texas Rangers 1B Brandon Snyder has been one of the team's surprises during the spring, and he has played in the corner spots of the outfield in an effort to see how he does out there. He can also play first base, second base and third base. "Every day I get to be here is great for me," Snyder said. "I've enjoyed learning from these guys. I just want to get better and be ready if they need me. I'll go day-by-day and see what happens."

The Texas Rangers plan to see how 1B Brandon Snyder looks in left field for their Cactus League game Tuesday, March 27. "I played it a few times in the minors, but never really got a chance to work on it," Snyder said. "Here, they want me to go out and play and see what I can do. I like that." He's 6-for-20 with a home run and seven RBIs in spring training.

The Texas Rangers agreed to terms with 1B Mitch Moreland and seven others on one-year deals for the 2012 season Thursday, March 1. The others include Ps Kelvin De La Cruz, Cody Eppley, Neil Ramirez and Matt West, OF Craig Gentry, C Luis Martinez and INF Brandon Snyder.
