Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury sitting against BoSox

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 10:19:14 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury is not in the lineup against Boston Red Sox left-handed SP Henry Owens Wednesday, Sept. 1. OF Chris Young will receive the start in left field, and he's batting second.

Fantasy Tip: Young ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has cooled off at the plate lately in limited action, but he still has a .322/.385/.603 slash line with seven of his 14 home runs against lefties. Consider him when looking for value plays against a left-hander today.

Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury returns vs. Atlanta

Fri, 28 Aug 2015 14:16:47 -0700

Updating an ongoing story, New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (hip) is leading off against Atlanta Braves SP Williams Perez Friday, Aug. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) only missed one game, and he is only dealing with a bruised hip. He has really struggled of late with a.258/.293/.398 slash line over his past 22 games, so there is an added degree of risk starting him at FantasyScore. Still, it isn't a daunting matchup.

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (hip) is out of the lineup with hip soreness Wednesday, Aug. 26. The team isn't viewing it as a major issue yet. OF Brett Gardner is hitting leadoff in his place.

Fantasy Tip: Gardy ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) faces Collin McHugh today, but he's hitting just .203 this month and .136 over the last week. He might not be the best option on FantasyScore at this midrange price.

Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury sitting vs. Cleveland

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 13:13:31 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury is not in the starting lineup Friday, Aug. 21. OF Chris Young draws into the lineup and is batting seventh against Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Ellsbury ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) in all fantasy formats Friday. The outfielder is 13-for-36 over his past eight games and beginning to heat up down the stretch. Young ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is an extremely risky play at FantasyScore Friday. He owns an underwhelming .185/.242/.342 slash line against righties this season, and Carrasco ($8,000, 16.0% of cap) has allowed just five runs over his past four starts.

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 20:16:24 -0700

Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury heating up

Mon, 17 Aug 2015 13:35:11 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury is 7-for-8 with a triple, a home run and two RBI since resting Wednesday, Aug. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) worked with hitting coach Jeff Pentland during his day off, and the guidance appears to be paying off. Ellsbury has five-category potential, but his six home runs and 14 stolen bases are serious disappointments for seasonal owners. Don't rule out a strong finish to the season, though, and Ellsbury isn't overpriced at FantasyScore, either. He is worth considering for lineups Monday, Aug. 17, against Minnesota Twins SP Kyle Gibson.

Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury sitting the bench

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 14:33:32 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 12. OF Chris Young is starting in left field and hitting eighth against Cleveland Indians SP Danny Salazar.

Fantasy Tip: We don't recommend running with Young ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) on FantasyScore, as he's more of a lefty killer. Against righties, his triple slash line is considerably worse (.189/.237/.350). Ellsbury could use a day off; he's hitting .105 (4-for-38) with 14 strikeouts in August. You may want to consider benching him in traditional leagues until he picks it back up.
