Houston Astros manager Bradley Mills wants OF Brian Bogusevic, who is hitting just .189 this year, to be more aggressive at the plate. "I might be completely wrong here, but a lot of it comes with not being real aggressive, to where he's getting behind in the count and tries to make contact instead of being able to stay aggressive and let it fly," Mills said. "So what happens when you make contact? It's a little ground ball."

Houston Astros OF Brian Bogusevic will get a long look in center field this spring, and he'll compete with OFs Jordan Schafer and Jason Bourgeois for the starting job there. "His ability gives him the opportunity to be able to play center or right, but we want this guy to step up and be an everyday starter for us and there's no reason he won't be able to," manager Bradley Mills said of Bogusevic. "We all saw what he can do at times last year." OF Jack Cust, 1B Jonathan Singleton and INFs Matt Downs and Brian Bixler will also see time in the outfield.

Houston Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said the team has signed OF Brian Bogusevic, C Jason Castro, INFs Chris D. Johnson and Brett Wallace and Ps Fernando Abad, Paul Clemens and Fernando Rodriguez to one-year contracts.
