Brewers | Ryan Braun scratched

Thu, 28 Jul 2016 10:44:28 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun (side) was scratched from the starting lineup Thursday, July 28, because of right side tightness. OF Ramon Flores will start in left field, while OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis will start in right field.

Fantasy Tip: The severity of Braun's injury is not known, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. Nieuwenhuis is hitting .429 with three home runs and six RBI over the last seven days and should be a sleeper option in daily fantasy leagues. Owners in most leagues should avoid Flores.

Brewers | Ryan Braun extends streak

Tue, 26 Jul 2016 21:39:38 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and three runs scored against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday, July 26. He has now hit safely in 11 straight games.

Fantasy Tip: Braun's ability to get on base (.419 OBP) and steal bases (6-for-6) have both been exemplary this month, but only three of his 23 July hits have been for extra bases. While his speed and batting average are keeping him relevant, Braun's power outage is a potential concern down the stretch.

Mon, 25 Jul 2016 23:29:14 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun extended his hitting streak to 10 games Monday, July 25, in a 7-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Fantasy Tip: Braun is at .319-14-45 with 11 stolen bases, giving fantasy owners a mix of power and speed. He's a legitimate 20-20 threat and a powerful threat in all formats.

Brewers | Ryan Braun gets first HR, RBI of July

Fri, 22 Jul 2016 22:12:08 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun went 1-for-3 with a solo home run against the Chicago Cubs on Friday, July 22. It was his first home run and first RBI since June 29 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Fantasy Tip: Braun's power outage lasted 15 games and 59 at-bats, which, given Braun's history and spot in the batting order, is rather stunning. He has hit safely in each game since the All-Star break and remains a solid OF2 in all formats

Brewers | Ryan Braun scores three times

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 21:43:57 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun went 2-for-4 with a triple and three runs scored against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday, July 20. He also stole a base.

Fantasy Tip: Braun is having an incredibly quiet month. How quiet? He doesn't have a home run OR an RBI in 52 ABs, and tonight's three runs almost matched his previous month-to-date total (four). We wouldn't advocate dropping him, but you could certainly consider sitting him down until his productivity picks up.

Dodgers | LAD not interested in Ryan Braun

Tue, 19 Jul 2016 06:10:18 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun isn't of interest to the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Braun got off to a torrential start of the season, and it has tapered off the last two months. He's hitting .244 with no homers in 45 at-bats this month, but he still has a .313-13-44 line on the season. He's looking more like the OF2 he was projected to be than the OF1 he was in the early part of 2016.

Brewers | Ryan Braun pulled because of score

Thu, 30 Jun 2016 14:58:15 -0700

Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun was removed in a double switch during the game Thursday, June 30, because of the 8-1 score in favor of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and not because he fouled a ball off his knee, manager Craig Counsell said Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Reiterating a previous tip, Braun is a fringe No. 1 outfielder in all mixed leagues and is having a solid season with a .325/.383/.554 slash line, 34 runs, 13 home runs, 44 RBI and six stolen bases.

Brewers | Ryan Braun exits late in game

Thu, 30 Jun 2016 14:24:07 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun (foot) left the game in a double switch Thursday, June 30, after he fouled a ball off his foot in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Fantasy Tip: Milwaukee was trailing by seven runs when Braun exited, so there might not be too much to read into his early exit. However, given he seems to be consistently dealing with minor and nagging injuries, fantasy owners will want to keep tabs on his status over the next few days. Braun left the game Thursday sporting a .325/.383/.554 slash line with 34 runs, 13 home runs, 44 RBI and six stolen bases. He's a fringe No. 1 outfielder in all mixed leagues.

Brewers | Ryan Braun on a tear

Thu, 30 Jun 2016 09:45:43 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun is hitting .415 with two homers and eight RBI during his 10-game hitting streak. He also has an 11-game hitting streak against the Los Angeles Dodgers, which he's hitting .372 with three homers and eight RBI during.

Fantasy Tip: Braun is an elite option in DFS today. There is a caveat, though, as Jonathan Lucroy isn't in the lineup protecting him. That said, he's a high-end start against Kenta Maeda.
