Brewers | Ryan Braun back in there

Wed, 04 May 2016 08:02:00 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun returned to the three-hole Wednesday, May 4, after sitting out the previous day due to general soreness.

Fantasy Tip: Braun has a big .382-3-12 line in 55 home at-bats, and he pounds lefties. He takes on lefty Hector Santiago today, and he's a high-end DFS option.

Brewers | Milwaukee keeping Ryan Braun fresh

Tue, 03 May 2016 15:54:22 -0700

Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun is being rested with general soreness Tuesday, May 3. Manager Craig Counsell thinks resting Braun occasionally this year will keep him productive after he underwent offseason surgery to fix a herniated disc in his back. Braun has two straight three-hit games and has raised his average to .372 with five home runs, 21 RBI and a 1.048 OPS.

Fantasy Tip: If Braun stays healthy all year he could return to the 30-home mark. Because many owners were skeptical of Braun coming off offseason surgery, he likely came at a nice discount in drafts. He's rewarding those that saw the opportunity at value in 2016.

Brewers | Ryan Braun, Aaron Hill resting

Tue, 03 May 2016 14:57:19 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun and 3B Aaron Hill are not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 3. OF Ramon Flores is starting in left field and hitting seventh, while 3B Colin Walsh is starting at the hot corner and batting sixth against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Nick Tropeano.

Fantasy Tip: Flores and Walsh don't even scratch the surface in terms of fantasy value, so they're both lotto tickets as deep daily sleepers. A weakened Brewers lineup means selecting Tropeano as your second fantasy starter in DFS action is a good strategy.

Brewers | Ryan Braun out of Tuesday lineup

Tue, 26 Apr 2016 13:47:28 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, April 26, against the Chicago Cubs. OF Ramon Flores is batting seventh in Braun's place against Cubs SP Kyle Hendricks.

Fantasy Tip: This just appears to be a normal night off for Braun, so there is no reason to panic. Simply rest Braun in daily leagues and substitute someone else. Flores has a .133 average in the past week, so he has no fantasy value.

Brewers | Ryan Braun remains red-hot

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 15:46:20 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun went 2-for-4 and homered for the second time in as many days Sunday, April 24, against the Philadelphia Phillies. During his seven-game hitting streak, Braun is 13-for-25 with eight RBI and has five multi-hit games.

Fantasy Tip: Braun opened the Brewers' scoring Sunday with a solo shot in the fourth inning and scored the second of his two runs during a six-run outburst in the sixth that put the game away for Milwaukee. The six-time All-Star may not be a 20-20 threat anymore, but his bat is still potent enough to make him a must-start against any pitcher.

Brewers | Another strong outing for Ryan Braun

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 05:35:55 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RB during the Brewers' 10-6 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies Saturday, April 23.

Fantasy Tip: Braun has a .355/.429/.597 slash line to start the campaign with 10 runs, four home runs and 14 RBI. After a 20-20 season in 2015, Braun continues to prove he is still an excellent fantasy contributor. Just don't confuse him with the perennial MVP candidate of his prime, especially in the home run and stolen base columns.

Brewers | Kirk Nieuwenhuis in starting lineup

Mon, 18 Apr 2016 14:00:29 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis will start in center field against Minnesota Twins SP Phil Hughes Monday, April 18. OF Ramon Flores will start in left field, while OF Ryan Braun will serve as the designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Nieuwenhuis has recorded three RBI in his last two games but has only three hits this season. Owners probably can avoid Nieuwenhuis since there will be better candidates to use in their lineups.

Sun, 17 Apr 2016 16:31:08 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun had been scheduled to rest against the Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday, April 17, well in advance, according to manager Craig Counsell, and Counsell added that Braun's back has held up well following surgery last fall.

Fantasy Tip: While he might receive an extra day off now and then, Bruan looks poised to provide OF2 numbers in 2016.

Brewers | Ryan Braun receiving day off Sunday

Sun, 17 Apr 2016 08:29:05 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun is not in the starting lineup against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Juan Nicasio Sunday, April 17. OF Ramon Flores will play left field and bat fifth, while OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis will start in center field and bat seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Braun is being given the day off, so he should be removed from all fantasy lineups. The 32-year-old slugger has three home runs and eight RBI through his first 11 games. Flores and Nieuwenhuis should be viewed as nothing more than inexpensive fliers for daily leagues.
