Brewers | Ryan Braun busts out of slump

Wed, 29 Apr 2015 15:09:28 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun busted out of his early-season slump Wednesday, April 29, hitting his fourth career grand slam and adding a solo homer to beat the Cincinnati Reds. Braun has now hit three home runs in his last two games after having only one home run heading into the series on the season. The grand slam was his first since June of 2010, and the multi-homer game gave him 21 multi-homer games in his career.

Fantasy Tip: Braun's ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) owners were starting to seriously wonder if injuries had gotten the best of him again in 2015 and sapped his power. The recent display of power should put to rest those worries for the meantime. If you had started to bench Braun of late, you should feel comfortable in putting him back in starting lineups and considering him at FantasyScore.

Brewers | Ryan Braun belts homer in return

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 18:42:39 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun launched a solo home run Tuesday, April 28, against the Cincinnati Reds. He had missed the past two days to rest some aches and pains.

Fantasy Tip: Braun is still batting just .227 with two homers and five RBIs this season, and his slow start is part of the reason Milwaukee has gotten off to a dismal 4-17 record. He'll set you back just $5,100 (or 10.2% of cap), and once he gets hot he will be a great bargain in FantasyScore.

Brewers | Ryan Braun hurt?

Mon, 27 Apr 2015 13:45:19 -0700

Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun (undisclosed) is out of the lineup due to undisclosed physical ailments Monday, April 27, for the second straight game. Braun requested the day off Sunday, April 26, due to a physical issue not related to his right thumb. OF Gerardo Parra is hitting third in the lineup once again.

Fantasy Tip: Braun ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) owners should be worried at this point, since he has just one extra-base hit and is hitting .230 (14-for-61) to start the season. Another injury could easily be the culprit. Stay away from him at FantasyScore until we know more. Parra ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) continues to benefit and should be a fine buy-low option for daily gamers tonight against Cincinnati Reds starter Jason Marquis, especially in the three-hole.

Brewers | Ryan Braun missing another game

Mon, 27 Apr 2015 13:05:34 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun is not in the starting lineup Monday, April 27.

Fantasy Tip: It is not known if Braun ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) is dealing with an injury, so owners should monitor the situation over the next day or two. Logan Schafer ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will take his place in the lineup but is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

White Sox | Jose Abreu makes history

Mon, 27 Apr 2015 00:27:38 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu became the fourth player to have a .300 batting average, 40 home runs and 120 runs batted in through his first 162 games of his career. Abreu (.316-41-121) joins Rudy York, Chuck Klein and Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun in that club.

Fantasy Tip: Abreu ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) is in rare company with this feat, and it just illustrates the fine start he has had in his career. Abreu should be started in daily fantasy leagues.

Brewers | Ryan Braun in extra-base drought

Mon, 20 Apr 2015 07:53:29 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun is 9-for-38 (.237) with no extra-base hits thus far.

Fantasy Tip: It's still very early, but there should be some concern whether the thumb injury has affected his swing and zapped his power. At $5,100 (10.2% of your cap), he really can't be used on FantasyScore until he shows signs of life.

Brewers | Ryan Braun bats leadoff

Sat, 18 Apr 2015 20:17:02 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun hit leadoff for the first time in his career Saturday, April 18, finishing 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Fantasy Tip: The move was made to try to jumpstart Milwaukee's offense, and while it seems unlikely Braun ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) will remain atop the lineup for long, his RBI potential will take a hit in the meantime. It may best to avoid Braun as the Brewers work out all the kinks with their lineup.

Brewers | Ryan Bruan returns vs. Pirates

Fri, 10 Apr 2015 12:22:06 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun (side) has returned to the starting lineup and will play right field and bat third against the Pittsburgh Pirates Friday, April 10.

Fantasy Tip: After making a pinch-hit appearance Wednesday, April 8, it isn't surprising to see Braun ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) back in the lineup. It would be wise to allow Braun to prove his health before utilizing him in FantasyScore contests. Hopefully, seasonal owners who reached for him in the early rounds can exhale now.
