Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki (calf, fibula) was hit in the left leg by a pitch Wednesday, March 12, and X-rays came back negative, only with some bruising. He's day-to-day.
Fantasy Tip: He'll probably rest for at least a few days before returning to action. The injury-prone, expensive pick will often have scares like this during the season, which brings into question his first-round tag.

Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki, who is weighing 205-210 pounds this spring, said he usually gains weight as the season wears on, which is atypical. "I'm one of those rare players that gain weight during the season," Tulowitzki said. "The theory behind it is me being lighter in the beginning is going to help me with my legs. But I try to put on a little bit during the season. It's such a long, grueling season that I feel like I need that extra weight at times."

It might be a long shot, but FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal wonders if the Colorado Rockies might deal SS Troy Tulowitzki to the St. Louis Cardinals. However, the Rockies are likely to keep Tulowitzki given that his contract will average $18.6 million over the next seven years, which is believed to be fairly reasonable. Owner Dick Monfort said that Tulowitzki and OF Carlos Gonzalez are "quite unavailable."The plan is to keep them. Next year, yes. And my plan is to always keep them," Monfort told The Denver Post. "Is that the smartest thing in the world to do? I don't know. But for our fans, I think it's the best thing to do." Gonzalez will average $15.9 million over the next four years, which makes him even more reasonable.
