Kansas City Royals OF Alex Gordon (wrist) said he had no pain Tuesday, Feb. 24, in his surgically repaired right wrist after playing long toss Monday, Feb. 23. He also took 15 dry swings Tuesday with a fungo, and manager Ned Yost said Gordon had no issues. Gordon said his rehab is on schedule, and he's confident he'll be ready for opening day.

Fantasy Tip: Gordon will likely come at an injury discount during your draft. Keep tabs on his progress in camp. If he doesn't have any setbacks, he could easily become an attractive value pick for your outfield.

Kansas City Royals OF Alex Gordon (wrist) threw for the first time Monday, Feb. 23, since his Dec. 31 wrist surgery. He will swing for the first time Tuesday, Feb. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Gordon is a well-rounded fantasy contributor. Over the past four seasons, he has averaged 93 runs, 19 home runs, 78 RBIs and 12 stolen bases with a .283/.356/.453 slash line. Gordon projects to be ready to for the beginning of the season, and he is a viable option in the early middle rounds of drafts. Continue to check back for updates on his recovery leading into the season, though.

Kansas City Royals OF Alex Gordon is uncertain whether he will exercise his $12.5 million player option for the 2016 season or decide to become a free agent.

Fantasy Tip: Gordon is likely to be drafted in the middle rounds of most fantasy baseball drafts. He has played in at least 150 games in each of the last four seasons and can be counted on for 150 hits, 15-20 homers, 80-90 RBIs and double-digit steals.

Kansas City Royals OF Alex Gordon (wrist) is still not cleared to throw or take part in baseball-related activities, and he hopes to do that sometime next week.

Fantasy Tip: Gordon has said he will miss at least one week of Cactus League games, but those don't matter for fantasy players. As long as Gordon is healthy come Opening Day, he should be a solid fantasy play in your outfield.
