Royals | Norichika Aoki expected to bat leadoff

Wed, 05 Feb 2014 21:12:59 -0800

Kansas City Royals OF Alex Gordon expects newcomer OF Norichika Aoki to fill the leadoff role, and manager Ned Yost has already indicated Gordon will be moving down to fifth. "We're going to iron that out in spring training," Gordon said. "But as of right now (Aoki) looks like a solid leadoff hitter. He's not going to strike out - I did a lot and that's not typical of a leadoff hitter. He gets on base, he walks, he slaps the ball around. He's kind of the typical leadoff guy."
