The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Rob Biertempfel reports the Pittsburgh Pirates reassigned RP Craig Hansen, P Jimmy Barthmaier, RP Tyler Yates and RP Neal Cotts to minor league camp. All four are rehabbing injuries.

Jenifer Langosch, of MLB.com, reports Pittsburgh Pirates RP Craig Hansen (back) has started throwing and is scheduled to throw off a mound for the first time March 10. It is still too early to set a timetable for his return.

Pirates.MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports Pittsburgh Pirates RP Craig Hansen (neck) received good news in a checkup last week. The nerve, which needed to regenerate, has moved closer to the muscle in his neck that needs to be strengthened. He's still unlikely to be ready for spring training, but it's a sign he may be able to return in 2010.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Dejan Kovacevic reports Pittsburgh Pirates RP Craig Hansen (shoulder) was diagnosed with Personage-Turner Syndrome, which is a condition in which a nerve deteriorates and shuts down muscles in the upper back, shoulder and upper arm. Doctors have told him his return could take anywhere from seven months to five years, but a full recovery usually is the case.

Chuck Finder and Dejan Kovacevic, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, report Pittsburgh Pirates RP Craig Hansen (neck) will miss four more weeks after tests showed inflammation of the nerve that controls the trapezius muscle across his neck, shoulders and back. He will undergo another test Monday, June 1.
