Brett Borden, of Panthers.com, reports former Carolina Panthers DL Gerald Williams has become a college scout for the franchise after successfully completing an internship set up by director of college scouting Tony Softli. "Last year was the first year, and Gerald was the first person to go through it," said Softli. "Gerald came in and did a great job in the program. He fit in not only on a personal level with the scouts, but having played in the NFL he knows football and he knows talent. It made it really easy for him to evaluate talent and it showed in his readings. We're happy and lucky to have him." Williams played 12 NFL seasons, including a stint with Carolina from 1995-97.
