Former NFL QB Bernie Kosar is sending word that he's open to working for an NFL team next season, according to Terry Pluto, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He has been talking to the likes of Baltimore Ravens president Ozzie Newsome and New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Kosar could work as a special consultant for a team.

The Akron Beacon Journal reports former NFL QB Bernie Kosar was accused of "increasingly bizarre and erratic behavior" by Babette Kosar in court documents. She accused Kosar of "giving away money and interest in other significant marital assets, including real property, to family and friends'' and acting "financially irrationally and irresponsibly." This is the second time Babette Kosar has filed for divorce, after she filed two years ago but withdrew her petition.

NFL | Wife of NFL QB wants psychiatric exam, drug tests performed

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports the wife of former NFL QB Bernie Kosar has asked a judge to order the quarterback to undergo a psychiatric exam. She also has asked the judge to have Kosar tested for drugs. Kosar's wife, Babette, filed for divorce seven months ago and has asked for sole possession of the couple's $1.2 million home near Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Whether the former Cleveland Browns quarterback had to comply with either request is unknown, as the request for the tests have been sealed at his request.

Browns | Kosar Speaks Highly of Frye

Steve King, of ClevelandBrowns.com, reports former Cleveland Browns QB Bernie Kosar sees a lot of similarities between himself and rookie QB Charlie Frye. "Charlie may look a little rough at times, but with the way I played, you're never going to hear me complain about anyone's technique," Kosar said. "The important thing about Charlie is that he sees the field so well. That enables him to make plays. He's always able to make plays." Kosar has been mentoring Frye since the rookie signed following the NFL Draft.

Former NFL QB Bernie Kosar will compete in a separate competition during the EA Sports Quarterback Challenge this year. The competition, which will be held in Fort Lauderdale Friday, May 13, will air as two one-hour specials on CBS July 16-17.
