Ryan O'Halloran, of The Washington Times, reports Washington Redskins offensive line coach Joe Bugel gave the team's starting offensive line a passing grade through their first two preseason game. Bugel said, "They've been really good. They're molding together. They've got great chemistry. If we can keep that bunch healthy, I think we'll have a very very good offensive line."

Gary Fitzgerald, of Redskins.com, reports Washington Redskins offensive line coach Joe Bugel's daughter, Holly, passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, at the age of 35. Holly had been diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer and was in treatment for months. It is uncertain if Bugel will be in attendance at the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 23. KFFL sends their condolences to Bugel's family and friends.

Melinda Waldrop, of the Daily Press, reports Washington Redskins assistant head coach Joe Bugel sees similarities this year's offensive line to those of the 1982 and 1987 Super Bowl team's offensive line. "They remind me of the line I had back here in the `80s. They have that kind of work ethic, they have that kind of toughness. Basically linemen kind of like each other, but this group has a rare feeling for each other," said Bugel.

Redskins.com reports after making the Pro Bowl in 2001 and 2002, and being named an alternate in 2003, Washington Redskins OT Chris Samuels believes he actually improved his overall game last season, although he wasn't selected as a Pro Bowler. "I had some bad habits that I developed in 2003, and (offensive line coach Joe Bugel) broke me out of that right away in the minicamps," Samuels said. "He helped me restore my game, basically. He stayed patient with me and believed in me."

Washington Redskins assistant head coach-offense Joe Bugel will be inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame (Western Chapter) Sunday, May 7, in a ceremony to be held in Pittsburgh, according to Gary Fitzgerald of Redskins.com.
