In addition, since Maese entered the league in 2001, the Ravens have had just five total kicks—punts and field goals—blocked.

With the signing of Solwold, who snapped for Tampa Bay before being placed on injured reserve after getting hurt four games into the 2002 season, Maese may face the toughest competition of his brief career this summer.

The Baltimore Sun reports Baltimore Ravens long snapper Joe Maese (knee sprain) was injured yesterday and he will be listed as day-to-day. As previously reported, starting RG Bennie Anderson (neck sprain) left yesterday's game. His X-rays were negative, but he complained of some tingling in his neck. He is probable for Saturday's game.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Baltimore Ravens WR Patrick Johnson is doing well with his rehab from his broken clavicle. Johnson said he is about four weeks from returning to the team. He was originally projected to miss eight weeks so he is right on schedule. Long snapper Joe Maese was involved in a minor car accident after getting married on Tuesday. He is doing OK.
