The Texas Rangers acquired OF Ryan Spilborghs from the Cleveland Indians Friday, May 4, in exchange for cash considerations. Spilborghs will report to Triple-A Round Rock.

Cleveland Indians OF Ryan Spilborghs is expected to report to Triple-A Columbus Tuesday, April 3, unless he is able to secure a major league job before then.

Cleveland Indians general manager Chris Antonetti announced that RP Jairo Asencio, INF Jose Lopez and OF Aaron Cunningham have made the 25-man roster. Asencio and Cunningham had been on the 40-man roster but were out of options. Antonetti also announced that OF Ryan Spilborghs and RP Jeremy Accardo did not make the team.

Cleveland Indians 3B Russ Canzler started in left field Sunday, March 18, in Cactus League action, and OF Ryan Spilborghs made the start in center field. Each player recorded a hit. Canzler has hit well during the spring, and might work his way into the mix for at-bats in left field if he continues to stay hot.

The Cleveland Indians will likely move OF Michael Brantley to center field with OF Grady Sizemore (back) out for an extended period of time. OFs Shelley Duncan, Aaron Cunningham, Matt LaPorta, Russ Canzler, Ryan Spilborghs, Fred Lewis, Felix Pie, Ezequiel Carrera, Thomas Neal, Chad Huffman, Trevor Crowe and Nick Weglarz will all compete for the left field and fourth-outfielder jobs.
