Fri, 15 Jul 2011 07:54:17 -0700 A house owned by former RB Deuce McAllister is scheduled to be auctioned July 27. The auction could be called off before then, according to the Sheriff's Office. A sheriff's sale of the house originally had been scheduled for June. In the meantime, the two sides have been working toward a settlement. The scheduled sale stems from a writ of seizure resulting from a suit by Whitney National Bank against McAllister. According to the writ, McAllister owes $1.8 million on the mortgage with Whitney. That figure has been inflated by nearly $1 million because of two years' worth of added interest and other penalties while the negotiations were ongoing.

McAllister and Smith are in a group of players that have tested positive for Bumetanide, a diuretic frequently used for weight loss, but also for masking the use of steroids or other drugs. All of the players who tested positive are subject to suspension, though they can appeal. Under the league's steroid policy, a first positive test results in a four-game suspension.
