Jean Jacques-Taylor reports in the Sporting News the Dallas Cowboys want to take a long look at TE James Whalen in mini-camp and training camp as an H-back. They feels he's too small and too slow to play as an every down TE. The team also wants to look at OC Ben Fricke as a deep snapper this off-season. Dale Hellestrae is due a $500,000 salary, but all he can do is deep snap. DE Greg Ellis had a screw removed from his leg and the Cowboys expect Ellis to be ready for training camp and at full strength. The team continues to look at the QB situation and is one of the teams contemplating signing CFL product Henry Burris.
