As an update to previous reports, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports New Orleans Saints LB Curtis Holden (knee) is seeking a second opinion on his injured left knee. He had been scheduled for reconstructive surgery to repair a torn ACL Wednesday, but that was put on hold to seek a different view.

John Clayton reports for ESPN the New Orleans Saints signed former Washington State LB Curtis Holden on Friday. He had been passed over in the NFL Supplemental draft. Holden was due to visit the Jets next week so the Saints signed him before he had that chance. Holden received a small signing bonus in a three-year contract at the NFL minimums.

Jason Cole reports for the Miami Herald the Miami Dolphins have confirmed they have only moderate interest in any of the 10 players eligible for Wednesday's NFL supplemental draft. RB Ben Gay, who last played with Edmonton in the CFL in 2000, may be the most intriguing. Though the Dolphins have scouted Gay and were impressed, they likely will pass on him. Only a couple of the players are expected to be taken on Wednesday. The leading candidates are LB Curtis Holden of Washington State and OL Shaun Rose of East Carolina.
