Mac Engel, of the Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys PK Brett Visintainer (back) could be cleared to kick soon by doctors. If healthy, he is expected to compete for what will likely be a wide-open kicking spot for the Cowboys in the fall. He is under contract to the team for 2006.

Matt Mosley, of the Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys PKs Billy Cundiff and Brett Visintainer continued to struggle during the team's morning practice, Wednesday August 3. Cundiff missed wide left from 40 yards and then hit a low line drive that bounded under the crossbar from 45 yards. Visintainer, however, isn't providing much competition.
