Cobbs' chances of making the final 53-man roster this year are slim as are Charles. Charles was injured in NFL Europe and didn't participate in the team's June minicamp.

The Herald-Dispatch reports New England Patriots rookie RB Earl Charles is getting ready for his first NFL training camp with the team. Charles was signed by the Patriots two days after attending a tryout camp. "He has all of the physical skills to make the team," said Charles' agent, Joe Linta. "At the very least, he'll make the practice squad. Right now it's just a learning curve with the system and if he can do that, all of the physical ability is there." Charles could also wind up in NFL Europe.
