Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall called out QB Jay Cutler in a heated locker room discussion after the team's Week 7 loss against the Miami Dolphins, a source said Sunday, Oct. 19. The source said there "are some very selfish individuals in the locker room." But it's not out of the ordinary for Marshall to strongly voice his opinion to Cutler, as the two are close friends off the field. Marshall also reportedly yelled at PK Robbie Gould.
Fantasy Tip: The argument shouldn't affect fantasy values any, and it is just part of football, competition and losing. If the Bears won this game, obviously things would be just fine.

Chicago Bears PK Robbie Gould was critical of the condition of the field at Soldier Field during the team's Week 10 game and indicated the field could be a factor when deciding to re-sign with the team when his contract is up. "If those are the [field] conditions we've got to play in, I just have to adjust, and obviously those are the type of situations you look for in re-signing with teams," Gould said. "I have a year left on my contract. I hope to stay a Bear. And those will be situations that I'm going to take into [consideration]. I don't know if I want to deal with that as I get older as a kicker."

The old record holders were former PKs Kevin Butler and Bob Thomas, who each had successful 55-yard field goals. The deal tops out at $15.5 million with performance-based escalators of $900,000 in 2012 and $1.1 million in 2013. He can collect another $254,800 in the first two years through other bonuses. Gould will earn roster bonuses of $2 million (2008), $2.15 million (2009), $150,000 (2010), $500,000 (2011), $500,000 (2012) and $500,000 (2013). He will earn base salaries of $520,000 (2008), $750,000 (2009), $1.6 million (2010), $1.65 million (2011), $1.8 million (2012) and $1.8 million (2013). Gould will have salary cap numbers of $2,642,800 (2008), $2.9 million (2009), $1.75 million (2010), $2.15 million (2011), $2.3 million (2012) and $2.3 million (2013).

Gould is trying to improve his long-range kicking skills. Gould went just 3-for-8 from that distance last season, missing from 48 yards, 47 twice, 44 and 43. A penalty nullified his only attempt from 50-plus yards, a successful 52-yarder in the season finale against Minnesota. Gould feels the competition can only help him get better. "Robbie came from off the radar and is getting more consistent," special teams coach Dave Toub said. "And Josh is more than a camp leg. It's fun watching everything play out."
