Ryan O'Halloran, of the Washington Times, reports Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs met with LB LaVar Arrington Monday morning, Oct. 3 and Gibbs said that Arrington is 100 percent healthy, but "he's not a starter right now." Linebacker Warrick Holdman has been starting in Arrington's spot and LB Charlie Clemons replaced Arrington in passing situations during Week 4. Furthormore, Arrington denied a FOX report that that he was asked and refused to play special teams. Arrington noted he is surprised by his lack of playing time.

The Houston Chronicle reports the Houston Texans have placed LB Charlie Clemons on injured reserve with an ankle injury. Texans LB Steve Foley (shoulder), who played for the first time in three weeks Sunday, Dec. 7, after nursing a shoulder strain, will replace Clemons as the team's starting right outside linebacker.

The Houston Chronicle reports Houston Texans LB Steve Foley (shoulder) suffered a sprained shoulder during practice Wednesday, Nov. 19, after OL Todd Washington threw him hard on the ground during a pass-rush drill. It is unclear if Foley will miss any playing time. He is currently the backup at right outside linebacker to LB Charlie Clemons with LB Antwan Peek (toe) out with a dislocated toe.

The Houston Chronicle reports Houston Texans LB Charlie Clemons (ankle) picked up the pace Thursday, Nov. 13, and had his most extensive workout since suffering a sprained left ankle nearly a month ago. Head coach Dom Capers said Clemons will go through workouts Friday, Nov. 14, before a final determination is made on his availability. The current plan is for Clemons to be active for the Sunday, Nov. 16, game against the Buffalo Bills. Whether he starts will depend on how much the Texans think his ankle can handle. Capers said he could envision Clemons splitting plays with six-year veteran LB Steve Foley.

Houston Texans LB Charlie Clemons (ankle) went through a light practice Wednesday, Nov. 12, for the first time in a month. The Texans are not ruling him out for the Sunday, Nov. 16, game against the Buffalo Bills. Clemons, who has been sidelined with a sprained left ankle, will go through another workout Thursday, Nov. 13, and a decision will be made on Friday, Nov. 14. Clemons said it has been frustrating to watch but did not want to rush back and further delay his comeback.

The Houston Chronicle reports if Houston Texans LB Charlie Clemons (ankle) is unavailable for the Sunday, Oct. 26, against the Indianapolis Colts, then rookie LB Antwan Peek could start at the right outside linebacker position. Peek has shown to be a heavy hitter and always seems to have a knack for finding the ball on special teams. He recorded his first career sack Sunday, Oct. 19, against the New York Jets and should get plenty of chances to harass Colts QB Peyton Manning as the fill-in for Clemons.

Carlton Thompson, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans head coach Dom Capers will give a large group of banged-up players a break from practice on Tuesday, Sept. 30. These players include CB Aaron Glenn (groin), C Steve McKinney (knee), G Milford Brown (knee), WR Andre Johnson (toe), DEs Gary Walker (toe) and Corey Sears (ankle), and LBs Jamie Sharper (back), Jay Foreman (hand), and Charlie Clemons (shoulder). The Texans have a BYE this week, which affords Capers the luxury of resting his injured players. "We'll focus on some of our younger players who need this time right now," Capers said. "We'll get some of our guys healthy, and we'll get some of these young guys work that you don't normally get when you have three practice days to get ready for an opponent. We can focus on ourselves, self-scouting and what we have to do to get better."

According to HoustonTexans.com, Houston Texans LB Charlie Clemons is quickly adjusting to his new position. Clemons, who played middle linebacker for the New Orleans Saints last year, is now learning to play outside linebacker. "Outside linebackers use much more technique because everything is right on top of you," Clemons said. "In middle linebacker, I had five yards to play with. If I made a mistake, I could pretty much get myself out of the situation. At outside linebacker, you have to be technically sound." Texans coaches do not foresee there being any problems with the transition.

The Tampa Tribune reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may visit with free agent LB Charlie Clemons (Saints). "We talked with the Bucs last Friday and again on Monday," said Brooks Henderson, a Clemons representative. "They said they were just beginning the process of putting together a list of guys they're interested in as a new [strongside linebacker] and that they'd like to talk with Charlie." The Bucs probably won't be able to sign a linebacker or any other player until they create more room under the salary cap. Restucturing WR Keyshawn Johnson's contract will help, but that deal is not quite done despite earlier reports.

The Journal Sentinel reports the Green Bay Packers have placed their pursuit of free agent LB Charlie Clemons (Saints) on hold while they negotiate with restricted free agent LB Armegis Spearman (Bengals). Clemons reportedly is looking for a contract averaging in the range of $3.5 to $4 million, which is far more than the Packers would have to pay Spearman.
