The Sports Network reports the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, of the CFL, re-signed NFL free agent RB Jesse Lumsden (Redskins) to a multi-year contract this week. Lumsden had attended the Washington Redskins training camp earlier this summer but he was released.

Gary Fitzgerald, of Redskins.com, reports Washington Redskins RB Jesse Lumsden has caught head coach Joe Gibbs' attention with his performance during training camp. Gibbs said, " In every single work day, there hasn't been a day where we have looked at the film and didn't say, 'This guy is quick.'" Lumsden is fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster. Lumsden had six carries for 32 yards during the scrimmage Saturday, Aug. 5.

TSN.ca reports the Washington Redskins have signed free agent RB Jesse Lumsden (Seahawks) to a two-year contract. No financial terms were disclosed. Lumsden played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL in 2005.
