Patriots | Nate Washington has struggled

Mon, 27 Jun 2016 12:14:48 -0700

New England Patriots WR Nate Washington had trouble getting on the same page as QB Tom Brady during organized team activities. He's at risk of missing the final roster if he does not impress at training camp.

Fantasy Tip: As stated earlier, even if Washington does make the team he'll be the No. 5 wide receiver at best. He can be avoided for the time being in fantasy drafts.

Patriots | Several Pats receivers on bubble

Mon, 27 Jun 2016 12:02:35 -0700

New England Patriots WRs Keshawn Martin, Aaron Dobson, Nate Washington and Chris Harper are all considered to be on the roster bubble by Paul Perillo of Perillo added that the mostly likely scenario is Martin, Dobson and Washington battling for one or two roster spots.

Fantasy Tip: Dobson and Martin probably have an edge for now, but none of them have much fantasy value as the Patriots' No. 5 wide receiver at best.

Patriots | Jimmy Garoppolo works with starters

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 17:15:50 -0700

New England Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo split first-team reps QB Tom Brady during a three-day minicamp, and WR Nate Washington said that Garoppolo understands the offense.

Fantasy Tip: Garoppolo could be forced into action with Brady facing a four-game suspension. His long-term value is limited, but he could be a potential DFS sleeper if Brady does miss games.

Patriots | Nate Washington still a deep threat

Thu, 09 Jun 2016 19:17:37 -0700

New England Patriots WR Nate Washington still has the speed to stretch the field, and he could fill New England's need for an outside deep threat.

Fantasy Tip: Washington may connect on a big play from time to time, but he is unlikely to have the consistent production needed to be a worthwhile fantasy option.

Patriots | Nate Washington could be cut

Mon, 09 May 2016 11:21:54 -0700

New England Patriots WR Nate Washington is not a lock for the final roster, in the opinion of's Mike Reiss. Reiss indicated that only WRs Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Danny Amendola and Malcolm Mitchell are locks for the 53-man roster.

Fantasy Tip: It's interesting that a veteran like Washington wouldn't be a guarantee in the Patriots' relatively shallow receiver corps, especially considering Amendola's injury history. Washington should not be viewed as more than a WR5.

Patriots | Nate Washington joining Patriots

Thu, 24 Mar 2016 13:44:24 -0700

Free-agent WR Nate Washington (Titans) is signing an undisclosed deal with the New England Patriots Thursday, March 24, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: The Patriots are making some splashes in the passing game this offseason, signing Martellus Bennett, Chris Hogan and now Washington. Washington will be one of their better deep threats and could even win their No. 3 wide receiver job behind Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola. Of course, he'll be at least the fourth receiving option behind Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Amendola and possibly Bennett. New England likes to use its running backs in the passing game, too, so there may be too many mouths to feed for Washington to be considered more than a WR4.

Patriots | Nate Washington visiting Pats

Mon, 14 Mar 2016 14:14:56 -0700

Free-agent WR Nate Washington (Texans) had a visit with the New England Patriots Monday, March 14, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: The 10-year veteran had 47 catches for 658 yards and four touchdowns for the Houston Texans last year. He has gone over 1,000 yards only once in his career (back in 2011) and is more of a complementary receiver that creates depth on a roster. He'd likely be the Pats' fourth or fifth receiver if he signs, which wouldn't make him much of a fantasy asset.

Texans | Cecil Shorts, Nate Washington probable

Fri, 08 Jan 2016 12:50:43 -0800

Houston Texans WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and WR Nate Washington (hip) are listed as probable for the wild-card game against the Kansas City Chiefs Saturday, Jan. 9. Shorts fully participated in the team's walkthrough Friday, Jan. 8, while Washington was limited.

Fantasy Tip: Shorts ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) and Washington ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) should have role in the passing game against the Chiefs. Neither receiver posted big numbers during the regular season but could have some success this week since the Chiefs had some problems stopping receivers during the regular season. Both players could be cheaper options on FantasyScore, but owners should not expect big numbers.

Texans | Two Texans limited Thursday

Thu, 07 Jan 2016 13:17:09 -0800

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue (calf) and WR Nate Washington (hip) were limited in practice Thursday, Jan. 7.

Fantasy Tip: The limited status is an upgrade for Washington ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) after not practicing yesterday. Washington is worth a look if you want a cheaper playoff wide receiver on FantasyScore, but Blue ($5,400, 10.8%) should be avoided altogether against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Texans | Nate Washington misses practice

Wed, 06 Jan 2016 12:12:20 -0800

Houston Texans WR Nate Washington (hip) did not practice Wednesday, Jan. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Washington and Cecil Shorts are a little banged up right now. DeAndre Hopkins should be frequently targeted as usual, but Jaelen Strong could also see more action than usual. He may not be a bad sleeper for those in playoff contests.
