Texans | Williams unlikely to play football again

Updating previous reports, The Associated Press reports Houston Texans WR Harry Williams (neck) likely will never play football again, according to team doctors. Williams underwent surgery Sunday, Aug. 24, to fuse and stabilize the cervical spine levels C-2 through C-4. He is expected to be able to walk again.

The Associated Press reports Houston Texans WR Harry Williams (neck) was diagnosed with a fracture of the C3 vertebra. Williams will have surgery to have two vertebra fused this weekend. Williams suffered the injury during the team's preseason game Friday, Aug. 22. Williams is able to move his arms and legs.

The Associated Press reports Houston Texans WR Harry Williams (neck) was taken off the field on a stretcher with a neck injury during the team's preseason game Friday, Aug. 22. His head was immobilized and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Head coach Gary Kubiak said, "He's got movement throughout his body. All the feedback I'm getting is that Harry will be fine." He is expected to remain hospitalized and should undergo surgery this weekend to fuse two vertebrae.
