Updating previous reports, Jeff Duncan, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports the New Orleans Saints will have to pay DT Grady Jackson the final $470,588 of his $1 million guaranteed base salary this season if no other team signs the defensive tackle, after releasing him Monday, Nov. 3. The last straw for Jackson occurred two weeks ago when he missed a scheduled operation to re-attach a torn ligament in his left little finger, then left the team hotel on the night before the Saints game against Carolina Oct. 26. New Orleans now has an open roster spot that will most likely go to CB Keyuo Craver, who is now eligible to return to the team after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
