Free-agent CB Ellis Hobbs (Eagles) (neck) has not officially announced his retirement, but he is not expected to play again. The Eagles certainly won't be re-signing the cornerback and kick return specialist.

Free-agent CB Ellis Hobbs (Eagles) said he hasn't made any firm decision with regard to his playing future. After suffering a serious neck injury that ended his season and required surgery, there were reports Hobbs planned on retiring. "All I'm doing is relaxing," Hobbs said. "Because of the lockout, it's just giving me extra time to work on other things. But none of the doctors have said I need to shut it down, I need to stop playing. I myself haven't even thought about that, or going that route. I've weighed both sides of it, and I'm pretty comfortable where I am right now."

Philadelphia Eagles CB Ellis Hobbs (neck) said Tuesday, Feb. 22, that he has not made a decision to retire, reports Chris McPherson, of PhiladelphiaEagles.com. "I have not made any decisions," Hobbs said in a text message to the team's official website. Hobbs has suffered two neck injuries in the past two seasons.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said CB Ellis Hobbs (neck) will not play in Week 12 because of his neck injury, reports the Philadelphia Daily News. Reid said an MRI showed that Hobbs' injury is different than the one he suffered last season.
