The Boston Herald reports WR Charles Johnson, with the suspension of WR Terry Glenn, may be given a chance to step up as the New England Patriots No. 3 WR. Johnson has more playoff experience (eight games) than any other player on the Patriots offense. If he does not make an impact, WR Fred Coleman may be given the chance.

The Providence Journal reports New England Patriots WR Charles Johnson was a surprise inactive over the weekend. The team only went with four active receivers on Sunday, with Fred Coleman being the fourth. Head coach Bill Belichick had praised him for his work on special teams last week.

Dan Pires, of the New Bedford Standard-Times, has informed KFFL that the New England Patriots have singed free agent WR Fred Coleman. He was originally drafted by the Bills in 1998 and played with the XFL's Chicago Enforcers earlier this year.
