The Toronto Blue Jays recalled Ps Kyle Drabek, Jeremy Jeffress, Luis Perez and Ricky Romero from Triple-A Las Vegas Tuesday, Sept. 3. The team also designated 1B Mauro Gomez for assignment, and recall C Mike Nickeas.

Perez could return before the end of the season, and the team would prefer to see how he looks in a major league setting before next year. Perez is a candidate to fill a left-handed spot in the bullpen next season.

Toronto Blue Jays RP Casey Janssen will take over as the interim closer until RP Sergio Santos (shoulder) returns from the disabled list. RPs Jason Frasor, Darren Oliver and Luis Perez will serve in middle relief, and RP Francisco Cordero will fill in where needed.
Fantasy Tip: Janssen should be added in the short term if you're hurting for saves at this juncture, but keep in mind that Santos will probably be back in another two to three weeks - he resumed throwing yesterday - unless he suffers a setback. Cordero can safely be dropped in most leagues.
