Tue, 21 May 2013 11:29:41 -0700 The Texas Rangers activated C A.J. Pierzynski (oblique) from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, May 21, and optioned C Robinson Chirinos and SP Josh Lindblom to the minors in corresponding moves.

Thu, 09 May 2013 10:47:46 -0700 Updating a previous report, Texas Rangers C A.J. Pierzynski (oblique) landed on the disabled list with a Grade 1 right oblique strain. He dealt with an oblique strain last year but only missed three days. He'll be eligible to return from the DL May 21. C Robinson Chirinos, who was recalled to take Pierzynski's roster spot, can also play several infield spots if needed. Fantasy Tip: Oblique strains are very tricky and can take plenty of time to come back from, so don't automatically Pierzynski to be ready on May 21. Chirinos could see occasional playing time behind Geovany Soto, but not enough to make him valuable in deep mixed formats.

C Robinson Chirinos is expected to come up from Triple-A. Fantasy Tip: The usually durable backstop has had an OK start with a .263-4-11. Abdominal injuries are freak things, though, and he should be fine in 2-3 weeks. DL him if you can, because he can catch fire in the Texas heat when he returns.

They have also renewed the contract of SP Jeremy Hellickson. As a result, all members of the team's 40-man roster are now under contract for the 2013 season.

"It's back to where it was before," Chirinos said. "…It's hard when you miss so much time. Now I feel good. My arm feels really good, my swing is really good. So everything is back." He played winter ball in Venezuela to test himself out.
