Dan Pires, of the New Bedford Standard-Times, reports when the New England Patriots went out to practice Thursday, Jan. 22, that several players had switched practice jerseys. Patriots CB Ty Law (normally No. 24) had switched jerseys with DB Antwan Harris (23), SS Rodney Harrison (37) wore S Chris Akins' (34) and CB Asante Samuel (22) had on S Eugene Wilson's (26). Last week at practice, before the Sunday, Jan. 18, AFC Championship game, RB Antowain Smith (32) said he had "accidentally" switched jerseys with Kevin Faulk (33).

Michael Felger, of the Boston Herald, reports New England Patriots rookie FS Eugene Wilson drew a surprise start Sunday, Sept. 14, against the Philadelphia Eagles at free safety and more than held his own, just as he did at cornerback on Sept. 7, against the Buffalo Bills. It was quite an adjustment for Wilson, who spent all spring and all training camp playing opposite CB Ty Law at right corner. But with the coaches dissatisfied with the play of CB Antwan Harris last week, Wilson was pressed into duty.

The Associated Press reports after the surprising release of SS Lawyer Milloy, the effort to fill the gap intensified on Wednesday, Sept. 3 in the New England Patriots' second practice without him. Patriots Ss Antwan Harris, Chris Akins, Aric Morris and Je'Rod Cherry all could take Milloy's spot, although Patriots head coach Bill Belichick didn't say who would start for the Sunday, Sept. 7 season opener against the Buffalo Bills. ''I think Chris and Antwan will probably get a good number of snaps this week, but Aric will also get some work there,'' Belichick said.

The Providence Journal reports CB Terrell Buckley was indeed amongst the New England Patriots inactive players on Sunday. There has been speculation he was suspended by the team for the game, but there has been no further word from the team on the subject. His spot as an extra cornerback was taken by Terrance Shaw and Leonard Myers. DB Antwan Harris (sprained ankle), OL Adrian Klemm (leg), OL Kenyatta Jones and S T.J. Turner also were inactive along with WR Terry Glenn (hamstring) and rookie DL Richard Seymour (leg).

The Providence Journal reports New England Patriots rookie DL Richard Seymour left today's game due to a leg injury in the second period and did not return. It was not announced if the new injury is related to his previous leg injury. S Antwan Harris injured an ankle in the second quarter and did not return. DE Willie McGinest returned and saw limited duty. He spent much of the game riding a stationary bicycle on the sidelines, trying to stay loose.
