Ken Powers, of the Westport Minuteman, reports TE David Kashetta (ankle) is hoping to catch on with an NFL team in August. Kashetta injured his ankle on his first day of practice with the Washington Redskins in May and was later released with an injury settlement. Part of the settlement, Kashetta said, was the team performing the surgery and paying for his physical therapy and his weekly expenses to travel to the Washington, D.C., area for checkups. Kashetta, represented by agents Rich Rosa and Tony Agnone, feels he can make it back from the injury by August. "We've talked to a number of teams about Dave since he's been injured and they've all said the same thing, 'when he's healthy give us a call, we'd like to work him out,' '' agent Rich Rosa said. "We're very confident that he's going to get another opportunity to show and NFL team what he can do."

Gil Brandt, of NFL.com, reports Boston College TE David Kashetta ran the 40-yard dash in 4.83 and 4.84 seconds during his pro day workout Wednesday, March 23. Kashetta also had a 34.5-inch vertical jump.
