ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Arizona Cardinals have agreed to terms with free agent QB Rohan Davey (Cardinals). Davey will report Wednesday, Dec. 22, to the team. His contract, which will pay Davey about $53,000 for the two weeks remaining in the 2005 season, runs through the 2006 season. Details were not yet available on the 2006 portion of the deal.

The Miami Herald reports it does not appear free agent QB Rohan Davey (Patriots) will be joining his former college head coach Nick Saban, with the Miami Dolphins. He has drawn interest from a handful of teams, but the Dolphins haven't been one of them. "'I've had zero contact with the Dolphins regarding Rohan Davey,'' said agent Joel Segal, who added he has already set up workouts with three other interested teams.

Michael Felger, of the Boston Herald, reports the battle for the New England Patriots No.2 quarterback spot between QBs Doug Flutie and Rohan Davey is on equal footing, according to head coach Bill Belichick. At minicamp, Thursday, June 9, Davey lined up with the second team offense. Davey had some characteristic bouts of inconsistency with his accuracy, but the offense at least ran smoothly from a communication standpoint. Flutie clearly seemed to have some lapses in his knowledge of the playbook in some drills.

However, Belichick added that he will not be sold on Davey until he plays consistent football throughout the preseason exhibition games. "You are going to see a lot of Rohan in the preseason, I'll tell you that right now," said Belichick. "He's getting plenty of snaps in practice, and he's done well with that. He got a lot of playing experience in (NFL) Europe, but this is a little different level than that, and he needs to be able to perform at this level, for the coaches' sake, for his sake, for the confidence of the team's sake."

Through five games Davey has completed 66-of-102 passes for 896 yards and 11 touchdowns with just three interceptions for a 116.3 quarterback rating. He's also rushed 16 times for 55 yards and two touchdowns. During a 33-29 victory over the Amsterdam Admirals in Week 5, Davey threw four touchdown passes and ran for another score. He finished the game with a 127.2 quarterback rating, marking the third time he has exceeded the century mark in five starts.
