"If I finish the season averaging (3.4 yards) a carry, I won't play next year. I'll be done," Jacobs said. "That's how much I believe in my ability ... My numbers will get higher as the season goes on. I'm not worried at all. I think things will be good for me from here on out. Nothing's wrong. Things are good. The season just started. Giants | Bradshaw picking up his play Wed, 30 Sep 2009 09:54:52 -0700 Ralph Vacchiano, of The New York Daily News, reports it isn't so clear anymore who is the No. 1 running back for the New York Giants. RB Brandon Jacobs is still the starter, but through the first three games RB Ahmad Bradshaw has been more effective. Bradshaw is coming into games earlier than he did in the past, and he is seeing the football in more important situations. Plus, Bradshaw continues to create most of his own yardage. Previously Bradshaw would come into games to take advantage of defenders being tired after Jacobs spent time beating on them. So far in 2009, Jacobs has not looked as explosive as he did in the past and he has converted just four of his 10 short-yardage attempts. Bradshaw, in comparison, has converted six of seven short-yardage opportunities, gaining 82 yards on those six runs.

Giants | Jacobs not impressed with Romo Mon, 13 Jul 2009 12:55:43 -0700 Ralph Vacchiano, of the New York Daily News, reports New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs said during a radio interview that he does not believe Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo is a good pocket passer or a good overall passer. "I think if you were to keep Tony Romo in the pocket, he's not that effective. That's what I think," Jacobs said. "But if you let him run around and everybody thinking 'Is he gonna run? Is he gonna pass?' then I think he's effective. Because he is athletic and he can run and he can beat you there. But if you keep him in the pocket, I don't think he can beat you from the pocket. I don't think he's that great of a passer, to be honest with you."
