New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola is working on getting on the same page with QB Tom Brady. The two worked out together earlier in the offseason in California and are now taking part in organized team activities. "I said it today; he darted me in the chest with one ball, and inside my head I was like, 'Wow, this guy can really wing it,'" Amendola said after Tuesday's practice. "That's why he's Tom Brady."

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady started working with former major league pitcher and quarterback tutor Tom House this offseason, and Brady feels his mechanics are better than ever. "The same way Tom Martinez was always there to watch and give me corrections, Tom House has told me why certain corrections need to be made," Brady said. "Look at a baseball swing and a golf swing. It's all mechanics. Look at how Barry Bonds swings. Look at how Floyd Mayweather punches. Mechanics. When you've got to fit it into the tightest windows, mechanics are crucial."
Fantasy Tip: Brady will be entering his age-36 season in 2013, but he still remains one of the more consistent and successful quarterbacks in the league. At some point, though, we'll see his numbers decline, and this year seems like a good bet for that, especially with Rob Gronkowski (forearm, back) and Aaron Hernandez (knee) banged up heading into the season. Aside from Danny Amendola, Brady doesn't have as many proven weapons in the passing game. Regardless, he'll go as a QB1 in most drafts.

Pittsburgh Steelers FS Ryan Clark said New England Patriots QB Tom Brady struggles when he does not have time to throw the football. "When Tom Brady gets pressure and when you're man-to-man and bumping those guys and making it hard for him to throw, he sees ghosts," Clark said. "Even when guys aren't around him, even when he's not about to be sacked, when his clock goes off in his head that the ball should be out, we'll see him duck, we'll see him flinch. When you get Tom Brady doing that, the whole New England Patriots mystique goes away." Clark added the Patriots have their fair share of fragile players, including offseason addition WR Danny Amendola.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft said he didn't want to see a situation develop with QB Tom Brady where he played for another team. "I just didn't want to ever see this become like Joe Montana leaving San Francisco, Emmitt Smith leaving Dallas, Brett Favre leaving Green Bay, Peyton Manning leaving Indianapolis. If Tom Brady played out this current contract and left us, there was no doubt in my mind that someone out there would pay him top dollar, and they should, for this ability, his leadership and his unselfishness," Kraft said. Kraft went on to note that he was trying to stay ahead of the curve, but added the team doesn't have the ability to pay a single player 18 to 20 percent of the salary cap.
Kraft said the team and Brady are both taking a chance making this longer-term commitment with the new three-year, $27 million extension. "Hopefully we have an elite quarterback that, even if his skills decline even a little bit, he'll still be better than 90 percent of the quarterbacks in the league," Kraft said.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft denied there is a handshake agreement with QB Tom Brady where Brady will be taken care of down the road financially, possibly even before this contract plays out. He also denied speculation that Brady agreed to the deal after being assured unrestricted free-agent WR Wes Welker would receive some of the money the Patriots saved on Brady's deal. "This is a real deal. Look at our track record. We don't do fake deals. The contract we have with Tom Brady is a real contract we will both live by," Kraft said.
