Thu, 09 Feb 2012 05:15:31 -0800 New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs apologized Wednesday, Feb. 8, for telling reporters that supermodel Gisele Bundchen should "stay cute and shut up." Jacobs said he should respect New England Patriots QB Tom Brady's wife. "Given the fact that it's a colleague of mine's wife, I do apologize for saying that, because I shouldn't have said that," Jacobs said. "It's his wife and I should respect that just as much as anyone else."
Wed, 08 Feb 2012 07:21:30 -0800 New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs said New England Patriots QB Tom Brady's wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, should keep quiet when it comes to criticizing the Patriots' wide receivers, as she did following Super Bowl XLVI. "She just needs to continue to stay cute and shut up," Jacobs said Tuesday, Feb. 7.
Wed, 08 Feb 2012 06:48:06 -0800 Former New England Patriots SS Rodney Harrison, now an analyst for NBC, doesn't believe the heat QB Tom Brady is taking in New England and elsewhere following Super Bowl XLVI is justified. "I don't think it's fair," Harrison said. "I think it ultimately comes down to 'team.' A lot of times, quarterbacks, as well as coaches, they get too much credit sometimes. But I don't think Tom should take the heat. He had opportunities to make some plays, and he did. Some guys dropped some balls, that's all part of football. They had opportunities. But I think it's just the media's way of saying, 'Finally, we get a chance to say something negative about him. Finally, we get a chance to torch him.'"
Mon, 06 Feb 2012 06:14:04 -0800 The wife of New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, was critical of the team's receivers, who dropped passes late in Super Bowl XLVI. While making her way toward the elevator following the game, New York Giants fans were harassing Bundchen, yelling, "Eli rules, Eli owns your husband." She replied, "You (need) to catch the ball when you're supposed to catch the ball. My husband cannot (expletive) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times."
Mon, 06 Feb 2012 06:06:05 -0800 On the final play of Super Bowl XLVI, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady's Hail Mary pass reached the end zone, where TE Aaron Hernandez had a chance at catching it cleanly, and TE Rob Gronkowski nearly grabbed it off the deflection. Gronkowski said following the game he had a chance of making the play. "It was just a jump ball," Gronkowski said. "Aaron did a good job going up there and we almost had it, but almost isn't enough."
Mon, 06 Feb 2012 05:38:29 -0800 New England Patriots QB Tom Brady was under duress or sacked on 14 of 43 dropbacks in Super Bowl XLVI, including half of his dropbacks in the fourth quarter, and five times on the final drive of the game.

Mon, 06 Feb 2012 05:21:42 -0800 New England Patriots WR Wes Welker said his fourth-quarter drop in Super Bowl XLVI cost his team the game; however, QB Tom Brady came to Welker's defense, saying there wasn't one single moment that cost New England the game. "Wes is a phenomenal player and a teammate," said Brady. "I love that guy." OG Brian Waters added, "Wes is a competitor. He's a pro. One play doesn't tell the story in this game. There were a lot of things out there that didn't go the way we wanted."
Mon, 06 Feb 2012 04:55:40 -0800 New England Patriots QB Tom Brady said he remains happy with his legacy, even though he failed to capture a fourth Super Bowl title. "I've been lucky enough to play in this game five times in 10 years. I'd love to keep coming back to this game and taking a shot. It's better than sitting home and not playing in this game," Brady said.
