Patriots | Tom Brady nursing Achilles' injury

Wed, 22 Nov 2017 13:31:11 -0800

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (Achilles') did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 22, due to an Achilles' injury.

Fantasy Tip: It's uncertain as to the severity of the injury, and might simply just be some soreness which prompted a veteran day off. There are no previous reports pointing to the injury. We'll know more Thursday and Friday as the week progresses.

Patriots | No practice for Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski

Wed, 22 Nov 2017 10:05:31 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (undisclosed) and TE Rob Gronkowski (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Fantasy Tip: There has been absolutely no mention of a recent injury to either player, so owners should treat this as nothing more than a veterans' day off until further notice. Both players are elite fantasy plays at their positions in Week 12 against the Miami Dolphins.

Patriots | Tom Brady throws for 333 yards

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 18:36:52 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 32 of his 47 passes for 333 yards and a touchdown in a 21-13 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Although he tossed just one touchdown, Brady bolstered his stat line with his third-best yardage total of the year. He draws a tough matchup with the Denver Broncos after a bye week, but he should still be considered a low-end QB1.

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 05:48:09 -0700

Atlanta Falcons DE Adrian Clayborn was fined $18,231 by the National Football League for a high hit on New England Patriots QB Tom Brady during the second quarter of Week 7's game. Clayborn was given a roughing the passer penalty on the play, which negated an interception.

Patriots | Tom Brady chucking it deep

Sat, 28 Oct 2017 09:25:34 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady leads the league with 18 deep completions (passes completed 20 yards beyond the line of scrimmage), one more than second-place Alex Smith of the Kansas City Chiefs and five more than third-place Carson Wentz of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fantasy Tip: Some of this is the Brandin Cooks effect, but Rob Gronkowski and Chris Hogan have certainly contributed their fair share. Through seven games, Brady is on pace to finish the season with 5,047 yards and 34 passing touchdowns. He's about as must-start as any player in the league on a weekly basis.

Patriots | Tom Brady aging gracefully

Tue, 24 Oct 2017 18:02:03 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady is the first player in NFL history to throw for at least 2,000 yards and 10 touchdowns in his team's first seven games at the age of 40 or older.

Fantasy Tip: Brady is only the 19th quarterback to even attempt a pass in his age-40 season and would join Brett Favre in 2009 as the only 40-plus signal-callers to throw for over 4,000 yards if he stays on his current pace. There's been nothing in his play yet this season to suggest he can't play a few more years, but owners would be wise to start dialing back expectations of him being a top-five quarterback in 2018, as Warren Moon is the only quarterback to be a remotely productive fantasy option at age 41 or older.

Patriots | Tom Brady tosses two TDs

Mon, 23 Oct 2017 04:31:07 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady was 21-of-29 for 249 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a Week 7 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Brady did most of his damage before the fog rolled in, but he still completed all but eight of his pass attempts. In short, Brady did his usual good job and he will now face a Los Angeles Charges squad that overcame the Denver Broncos' vaunted defense.

Patriots | Tom Brady working on accuracy

Fri, 20 Oct 2017 18:43:19 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady said Friday, Oct. 20, that he doesn't feel his accuracy is where it needs to be, especially in the red zone where the Patriots have scored 14 touchdowns in 25 trips.

Fantasy Tip: For someone who is disappointed in his accuracy, Brady continues to put up QB1 numbers on a weekly basis, and he is a must-start option against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7.
