Patriots | Tom Brady practices fully Thursday

Thu, 29 Jan 2015 19:15:22 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) was able to go through a full practice session Thursday, Jan. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Brady will play against the Seahawks, but you might be better off going with Russell Wilson in FantasyScore when choosing a starting signal caller. Brady faces a much more difficult matchup against the Legion of Boom. Of course, he also has a better corps of receivers, including Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski.

Patriots | Tom Brady a full participant

Wed, 28 Jan 2015 17:04:42 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) practiced in full Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Brady is also battling a cold, but he'll be just fine for Super Bowl Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. He should be a solid play at FantasyScore for $7,777 (15.55% of cap).

Patriots | Tom Brady fighting a cold

Wed, 28 Jan 2015 09:29:15 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (illness) admitted that he is currently battling a cold, but he said he expects to be 100% ready for the Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 1. "I've had it for four to five days, my kids got sick and my wife's pretty sick right now," Brady said. "I brought it, unfortunately, to Phoenix, but I'll be fine. I'll be good." Brady is focused on rest and eating plenty of garlic, which he said is one of his "old remedies."

Fantasy Tip: Brady ($7,777, 15.55% of cap) will be fine for the big game, and this shouldn't influence your decision to select him for your FantasyScore lineup this Sunday.

Patriots | Tom Brady said he feels perfect

Tue, 27 Jan 2015 16:13:32 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has publicly stated he'd like to play well into his 40s and feels perfect after playing his 15th season, but his father Tom Brady Sr. believes it won't end well with the Patriots. The younger Brady is under contract through 2017, although he'll turn 40 years old prior to that season. Brady has publicly said he plans on playing until he's 43 or 44. The 37-year-old quarterback is scheduled to make $12 million in 2015, $8 million in 2016 and $9 million in 2017. His father thinks his son's determination to keep playing won't go over well with the Patriots' brass. "It will end badly," Brady Sr. told New York Times Magazine. "It does end badly. And I know that because I know what Tommy wants to do. He wants to play 'til he's 70. ... It's a cold business. And for as much as you want it to be familial, it isn't."

Fantasy Tip: Even at 37, Brady didnít show any signs of slowing down. While fantasy owners do assume some risk when drafting aging quarterbacks, Bradyís commitment to his well-being rule out some of that risk. He should be considered a midrange starting fantasy quarterback until he proves otherwise.

Patriots | Tom Brady clutch late in postseason

Mon, 26 Jan 2015 13:36:32 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has led eight playoff game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime in his career, more than any other player.

Fantasy Tip: Brady ($7,777, 15.55%) has seen his fair share of postseason success, but he's still a risky option going up against what was arguably the best pass defense in the NFL this season in the Seattle Seahawks. Russell Wilson might be a better option on FantasyScore at $4,444 (8.89% of cap).

Patriots | Tom Brady improved out of pocket

Sat, 24 Jan 2015 19:48:20 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 12 of his 24 pass attempts on scramble plays outside of the pocket this year for 198 yards and two scores. Last year, he was 0-of-4 on similar plays.

Fantasy Tip: Brady's success on scrambling plays could come in handy in the Super Bowl against the Seahawks' tough defense. Fantasy owners should feel comfortable starting him over Russell Wilson ($4,444, 8.89% of cap) at FantasyScore.

Patriots | Tom Brady probable for Super Bowl

Fri, 23 Jan 2015 14:54:51 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) practiced in full for the third straight day Friday, Jan. 23, and is probable for the Super Bowl against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Brady ($7,777, 15.55% of cap) is facing a tough Seahawks defense in the Super Bowl. However, after seeing what Aaron Rodgers was able to do against them last weekend on a hobbled leg, it's safe to say that Brady will remain a fine choice as your FantasyScore QB over Russell Wilson.

Patriots | Tom Brady a full participant

Thu, 22 Jan 2015 16:52:48 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) participated fully in practice Thursday, Jan. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Brady ($7,777, 15.55%) has been solid all season, but the Seahawks are a different animal when it comes to defending the pass. The Patriots could again rely heavily on LeGarrette Blount and the running game, making Brady a risky option at a high price on FantasyScore.

Patriots | Tom Brady could come under fire

Thu, 22 Jan 2015 07:05:54 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady is now scheduled to speak to the media Thursday, Jan. 22, and he could come under fire due to the report of deflated footballs in the AFC Championship game. Head coach Bill Belichick denied any involvement in the issue, and Brady will likely have to answer questions on the situation.

Fantasy Tip: Looking ahead, Brady ($7,777; 15.5% of your cap) has a stiffer matchup than Russell Wilson ($4,444; 8.8%) for the Super Bowl on FantasyScore. However, Richard Sherman (elbow) and Earl Thomas' (shoulder) health could swing the matchup pendulum back into Brady's favor.
